Acadia Memories, an in-town Bar Harbor house, provides distinct advantages
In the early morning...before the kids wake up... enjoy a private vacation adventure. Take a brisk walk down West Street toward the Bar Harbor town pier. Above a light mist on the water you can see lobstermen preparing their boats for the day's work. The town of Bar Harbor is quiet and the streets are empty. Follow the Shore Path to the east...enjoy the view of off-shore islands, smell the sea air and feel the warmth of a rising sun.
Or, continue your early morning adventure in a different direction through Agamont Park toward the Village Green. Note the quaint and picturesque shops that line historic Bar Harbor's Main Street. Browse the shop windows...too early for shops to be open...but pop into Sherman's Book Shop and pick up a newspaper or a new book. Continue up Main Street to Choco-Latte Cafe. Get a fresh baked pastry and a Macchiato to-go then head to a park bench in the scenic Village Green. Read your paper or start your book, and enjoy your coffee and pastry in the morning quiet... before the town begins to bustle with activity.
In the late afternoon--back at Acadia Memories cottage after your hike or bike ride in Acadia National Park, whale watching trip, or kayak excursion--while you start dinner, send the kids to the grocery for any last minute items (a 2 min. walk). Of course if you're a bit tired from your day's activities why not order pizza from Rosalie's, down the street? The kids can walk to pick it up (a few minutes roundtrip) while you enjoy a relaxing shower.
The advantages of in-town accommodations are just the first of many reasons you will enjoy staying at Acadia Memories vacation cottage in Bar Harbor, Maine. We named the cottage to remind you that the great times you and your family have on vacation here will be your family's "Acadia Memories" to enjoy for a lifetime!

About Acadia Memories Vacation Cottage
The cottage was built in 1901--a modest fisherman's home located close to the Bar Harbor waterfront. Sometime after The Great Fire of 1947, the cottage was moved a few blocks west to its present site.
The cottage was renovated and refurbished in the spring of 2006, and opened that summer for vacation rentals. Over the years additional improvements have been made. In 2024, the 2nd floor was totally remodeled. Some of the major improvements include two dormers, a larger bathroom with all new fixtures (including separate soaking tub and shower), and a double-decker front porch (new photos of the cottage will be uploaded soon). We think you will agree the cottage has all of the modern conveniences expected of contemporary living while maintaining the charm and character of its 100+ years.
The double-decker front porch offers two private getaway places to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, read a newspaper or book, plan the day's activities ...or simply sit and enjoy the fragrance of roses in the front yard. The side deck, with a nearby gas grill, is a great place to hold an afternoon or evening cookout.
Acadia Memories vacation rental cottage, with three bedrooms and two baths, is a full-size house that comfortably accommodates six guests, and it has plenty of off-street parking. The cottage is inspected for safety and licensed for weekly vacation rentals by the Town of Bar Harbor, Maine.
