Acadia Memories Cottage
24 Bridge St., Bar Harbor
Acadia Memories, an in-town Bar Harbor house, provides distinct advantages
In the early morning...before the kids wake up... enjoy a private vacation adventure. Take a brisk walk down West Street toward the Bar Harbor town pier. Above a light mist on the water you can see lobstermen preparing their boats for the day's work. The town of Bar Harbor is quiet and the streets are empty. Follow the Shore Path to the east...enjoy the view of off-shore islands, smell the sea air and feel the warmth of a rising sun.
Or, continue your stroll in a different direction through Agamont Park toward the Village Green. Note the quaint and picturesque shops that line historic Bar Harbor's Main Street. Browse the shop windows...too early for shops to be open...but pop into the corner bookstore and pick up a morning paper. Continue up Main Street. Through the Village Green wind your way down Rodick Street. Smell the enticing aroma of the Morning Glory Bakery. Order a just-baked pastry...but don't enjoy it indoors...instead walk around the corner past the historic (newly restored and reopened) Criterion Art Deco Theater, back down Main Street to the Coffee Hound Coffee Bar. Get a mocha latte to-go and head across the street to Agamont Park.
Seated on a park bench, enjoy your coffee and pastry along with a spectacular view of the colorful sail and lobster boats that pepper the blue waters of Bar Harbor...with Bar Island, Porcupine Islands and perhaps a cruise ship in the distance.
In the late afternoon--back at Acadia Memories cottage after your hike or bike ride in Acadia National Park, whale watching trip, or kayak excursion--while you start dinner, send the kids to the grocery for any last minute items (a 2 min. walk). Of course if you're a bit tired from the day's activities why not order pizza from down the street? The kids can walk to pick it up (a 5 min. roundtrip) while you enjoy a relaxing shower.
The advantages of in-town accommodations are just the first of many reasons you will enjoy staying at Acadia Memories vacation cottage in Bar Harbor, Maine. We named the cottage to remind you that the great times you and your family have on vacation this year will be your "acadia memories" to enjoy for a lifetime!

About Acadia Memories Vacation Cottage
The cottage was built in 1901--a modest fisherman's home located close to the Bar Harbor waterfront. Sometime after The Great Fire of 1947, the cottage was moved a few blocks west to Bridge Street. The cottage was renovated and refurbished in the spring of 2006, and opened that summer for vacation rentals. We think you will agree the cottage has all of the modern conveniences expected of contemporary living while maintaining the charm and character of its 100+ years.
The front porch is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, read a newspaper...or simply enjoy the fragrance of roses in the front yard. The side deck, with gas grill, is a great place to host an evening cookout.
Acadia Memories vacation rental cottage, with three bedrooms and two baths, is a full-size house that comfortably accommodates six guests, and it has plenty of off-street parking. The cottage was inspected and licensed for weekly vacation rentals by the Town of Bar Harbor, Maine.
